BRENNAN'S STORY

Kevin Brennan’s desire for integrity, love for the community, and commitment to customer service began long before his painting career. These values were cultivated during years of service as a firefighter in the Tampa Bay area and in the United States Air Force, shaping his dedication to his customers today.

This is Kevin’s story…

Born in Queens, New York, Kevin moved to Madeira Beach, Florida, in 1977 when his father retired from the New York City Fire Department (FDNY). Despite his initial reluctance as a 16-year-old leaving friends and the familiar for a new place, he now appreciates that decision. Kevin graduated from Seminole High in 1979 and enlisted in the United States Air Force from 1980 to 1984, where he served as a Crash Fire Rescue Firefighter at Bergstrom Air Force Base in Austin, Texas, igniting his passion for painting in 1980.

Kevin’s painting journey began when his neighbor, Steve, learned about his 24-hour on, 24-hour off base schedule and offered to teach him to paint for extra income on his off days. Steve’s wisdom that stuck with Kevin was, “A good painter leaves the customer’s home as they found it.” This lesson remains at the core of Brennan’s Paint to this day. After his USAF service, Kevin returned to Madeira Beach, attended Fire Academy, and became a Florida State Certified Firefighter.

In 1985, Kevin started his civilian firefighting career in Pasco County, eventually joining Largo Fire Rescue and continued to paint on his days off. Kevin’s side work ultimately led him to meet his wife, Laura, during the installation of 911 dispatch centers for Pinellas County and he eventually obtained a painting contractor license in Pinellas and Hillsborough Counties.

After retiring in 2014 as District Chief for Largo Fire Rescue, Kevin pursued painting full-time, establishing Brennan’s Painting on a foundation of integrity, quality, and exceptional customer service. Kevin Brennan and Laura have been married for 31 years and have 2 adult sons, Myles and Riley, along with 2 grandsons. Their commitment to service extends beyond family and business, as Kevin emphasizes that “he doesn’t just want customers; he wants lifelong friends.”
