Floridians. You know them, you love them, and most of all, you’re proud to be one. (Snowbirds, we’ll adopt you in the club too.) Few things make a Floridian smile more than their childhood spots and dives, so we’re getting nostalgic with a list of Tampa Bay’s Most Iconic Spots. Below you’ll find some of the places that hold deep memories or maybe some new ones that remind you of some more recent fun. In true Brennan’s style we’ll be sure to give you some paint choices that match these icons so that your next project with Brennan’s Painting can bring the essence of your memories right to your front door. (We’re more than happy to paint that for you too.) So, as Kevin always says, “Let’s Roll”.

Let’s start this thing off with a bang. Built in 1928 The Pink Palace of St. Pete Beach stuns with it’s Gatsby Era architecture and regality. It’s no wonder F. Scott Fitzgerald had his fair share of amusement here. The Don Cesar is definitely one of Tampa Bay’s premier spots to bask in all things Floridian. From weddings, to vacations, or even just a good ole’ ice cream cone The Don Cesar is a spot we all can say captivates our attention. If you’re looking to add a little class with a whole lotta Floridian sass to your home might we suggest Benjamin Moore – Pearly Pink 2171-50? It’s sure to bring the class of the roaring 20’s and leave your guests raising their champagne flutes to you old chap.

Florida’s oldest restaurant  and Founded over 115 years ago, this classic spot for fine dining has remained in the same founding family being handed down 5 generations now. It’s decor and original essence has been preserved to deliver the same indulgent experience as its opening in 1905. From the moment you walk in you’re welcomed to partake in a beautiful atmosphere that shines with Cuban pride and heritage. If that’s your style we think you could really spruce up your own kitchen with Benjamin Moore – Alabaster white. To perfectly encapsulate this gem of a dining experience it is suggested to include dark wood accents and accent tiles with pops of color. Then, and only then, can you recreate the 1905 Salad at home and enjoy it to its fullest capacity.

We can all say that while attending a local concert or Taco Bus (R.I.P.) dinner downtown that we stopped to gawk at the Vinoy sparkling in the moonlight. Maybe you had to quickly use their restroom, or you attended a wedding in the grand ballroom to fall in love with this place. Whatever circumstance brought you to this St. Pete stunner left you with a growing appreciation for the Tampa Bay area and it’s beauties to which the Vinoy, being rather new compared to some of the classics, is no runt of the litter. Although it’s pink exterior is striking, many would argue the true escape from reality comes from the lush grounds of this magnificent hotel. With a backdrop of palmscapes the Vinoy has achieved an effect of luxe style and class upon any weary traveler. If you’re inspired to relive this classic beauty you could start with adding luxurious textures like turquoise velvet, or tropical jewel tone accent pieces. The key is to maintain modern style while mixing in pops of old Florida luxury. Benjamin Moore has some of the perfect colors such as Benjamin Moore – Dark Teal, Benjamin Moore – Seastar, and Benjamin Moore –  Salmon Mousse.

Coming up on their 10 year anniversary The Oxford Exchange was the groundbreaking gathering place that changed the way dining and coffee was viewed. Located off of famous Kennedy Blvd, ths Tampa beauty has become not only a place to enjoy a work meeting, but now it is the spot to get “the photo”. It’s textiles and overall vibe are the quintessence of London with a touch of the prohibition era. Are you even a Florida native if you didn’t come here with all of your friends in High school for that signature latte art? You can easily recreate this type of atmosphere in your home with some simple touches. The iconic crawling ivy, (So tell your spouse to leave your abundance of house plants alone.) as well as white and black contrast paints. Maybe go bold and paint that bathroom tile that OE signature dance floor pattern. If you’re going to take the plunge, use classic Benjamin Moore – Black 2132-10 and Benjamin Moore – Simply White OC 117  (a former Color of the Year).

We’re taking it over to the other side now with a little trip down memory lane and Frenchy’s. If you have never eaten here, you’re definitely not from Tampa Bay. This spot is the George Washington of iconic Tampa Bay spots. Opened in 1981 by “Frenchy” himself, a former Canada native. He’s grown his businesses to now include five restaurants and a waterfront hotel property. You come for the grouper sandwich and you leave with a smile. This place holds too many memories to count for Floridians and the style of retro Florida is a force to be reckoned with. So don your front yard with pink flamingos and paint your doorposts bright mango, because well, YOLO. Frenchy’s lives in us all.  Your front door may just need to be painted Benjamin Moore – Stuart Gold now. (You can blame Frenchy.)

You probably feel a connection to this high rise being that you watched it go up for almost a year on your beloved Clearwater Beach. This resort brought a new South-Beach style to our retro Clelarwater and has been rated a top resort for many reasons the past few years. Truly a showstopper in architecture and design this trendy spot comes with great amenities and beautiful gulfside views. Bring your guests to their knees with a color palette inspired by the pearly white sands and hues of sea glass. Some great choices include:
